From shopping to hospitality: Powy focuses on the quality of the charging experience

May (1)

With the acquisition of RAW Charging Network Italia and the addition of 140 charging points in five of Italy's main outlets, Powy strengthens its strategy that integrates charging into high-traffic destinations, making it a natural part of curbside service.

From new signage to integrated cables, to parking sensors to detect improper use of charging bays: Powy focuses on the customer experience to make every phase of charging simpler and more immediate.

Turin, 30 September 2026 – Electric mobility has also gained momentum in Italy: over 80,000 public charging points have already been installed across the country, a 19% increase compared to a year ago [1]. In this scenario, the challenge is no longer just the spread of infrastructure, but also the ability to integrate it into places frequented by people every day, making charging increasingly accessible and compatible with daily habits.

It is on this model that Powy , Italy's leading independent electric vehicle charging operator , is building its growth, through a network distributed across Italy and Spain. A path that in 2026 marked a new step with the acquisition of 100% of RAW Charging Network (Italy) Srl – a company of Raw Charging Network Limited (UK), a European operator with charging infrastructure in retail, hospitality and leisure locations – through which they entered the network. Powy 140 charging points in five of Italy's main Designer Outlets . The operation inaugurates a new phase for Powy , which is expanding its development strategies to include M&A operations, with the aim of accelerating the consolidation of its presence in areas with high potential for electric mobility.

The operation involved five key retail destinations: Serravalle Designer Outlet in Piedmont, Noventa di Piave Designer Outlet in Veneto, Castel Romano Designer Outlet in Lazio, and La Reggia Designer Outlet in Campania , all part of the McArthurGlen group, as well as Barberino Outlet in Tuscany , managed by Promos. Overall, the five outlets attract over 20 million visitors annually and offer particularly convenient times for charging, confirming the value of large retail centers as places where charging infrastructure can be integrated into everyday mobility. The potential of this operation extends not only to users – who can count on fast and easily accessible charging stations during a planned stop – but also to partners , thanks to the expansion of services offered to visitors, and more generally to the local communities , which thus increase the availability of charging infrastructure.

A presence supported by a series of investments and B2B partnerships. Partners include leading operators in the hospitality and mobility sectors, including Meliá Hotels International, Accor, Mangia's, and Zafiro Hotels, as well as PAC 2000A Conad, Maiora/Despar Centro Sud, Tigros, and Pittarello in large-scale retail trade and shopping centers , and Apcoa and Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato (FS Park) for rest areas .

Customer Experience at the centre

With the integration of the acquired infrastructure, Powy has embarked on a modernization process that has involved not only the technological component, but also the user experience. In the outlets, the navigation has been made simpler and more intuitive thanks to new signage and floor markings , present both in the parking lots and near the stations to guide drivers to the charging areas. The new stations AC They also feature integrated cables , a still uncommon solution that allows you to directly connect the vehicle without using its own cable. New direct current charging infrastructures have also been developed.

The modernization also included payment methods, with the replacement of existing POS terminals in the facilities. On the technological front, the infrastructure was upgraded to meet current standards. Powy With the introduction of Dynamic Load Management , which allows for real-time optimization of the distribution of available power between different charging points. From station identification to vehicle connection and payment, the work carried out at the outlets reflects a focus on customer experience that is increasingly central to the development of the Powy network .

“ With this first operation, we are inaugurating a new phase of growth, also through targeted acquisitions, which will complement our organic growth engine, which has been a source of continuous satisfaction for years ,” says Federico Fea, CEO and co-founder of Powy . “ We are happy to collaborate with first-class companies such as McArthurGlen and Promos, with whom we have defined a significant investment plan aimed at further improving the customer experience with new fast and ultra-fast infrastructure .”

Technology and reliability

One of the distinctive elements of the network Powy It is reliability, with an uptime of 99.98% , a particularly high level in the electric charging market. To date , over 5 million kWh have been supplied, for more than 4 million km traveled in electric mode and over 3 million kg of CO₂ saved since 2024 , equivalent to more than 40,000 trips on the Rome-Milan route.

The network integrates AC charging solutions ( AC ) and continues ( DC ), with power ranging from 22 kW to over 300 kW, to meet different needs and parking times. The locations are selected through a data-driven approach , based on the characteristics of the territory and the needs of the users. The network Powy It is powered 100% by energy from renewable sources and, thanks to interoperability, it is accessible both via Powy Charge both through the apps and cards of the main mobility providers.
