Powy and FS Park: passed the first 10,000 charging sessions, saved over 100 tons of CO₂.

Renewed collaboration, entering the second phase of continuous improvement.

May 6, 2025 - Powy, a leading company in Italy that owns, develops and operates the leading independent network of public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, and FS Park, a company of the FS Group, renew their partnership with the aim of promoting sustainable mobility and road-rail-road intermodality.

The goal is to make it increasingly easy and convenient for commuters and travelers to combine the use of public transportation with electric cars, offering new benefits resulting from the joint work of Powy and FS Park, based on the study of user habits.

To date, the agreement has led to the commissioning of the first 169 charging points at key sites in the national rail network, such as Conegliano, Domodossola, Empoli, Ferrara, Genoa, Lodi, Milan, Mogliano Veneto, Novara, Padua, Pisa, Rho, Turin, and Treviso.

These charging points have enabled users to make more than 10,000 sessions, saving a total of more than 100 tons of CO₂, the equivalent of more than 150 Rome-Milan trips. These results have also provided valuable data, which Powy and FS Park have used to analyze charging habits and develop new commercial offers aimed at further incentivizing the use of FS Park's charging infrastructure and parking lots.

New benefits for users through data and continuous improvement

In 2022, FS Park and Powy launched a nationwide project that follows a phased approach with a clear goal: to put customer satisfaction at the center of everything. In the first phase, they laid the foundation by building an initial set of infrastructure.

With the second phase, the focus shifted to analyzing usage data from users to better understand their habits and needs. This made it possible to define improvement actions aimed at optimizing the existing infrastructure and to establish guidelines for future infrastructure.

It was precisely because of these analyses that two promotions were introduced, available through the app Powy Charge. For DC fast-charging, users can take advantage of a 10 percent discount on the charge, effectively getting about an hour of free parking at FS Park sites, a useful opportunity that allows users to recharge without paying for parking while retaining all the benefits offered, such as safety and central location.

For slow AC charging, which is ideal for longer stops, the extra fee associated with stall occupancy beyond two hours after charging is completed has been eliminated. In this way, users making longer stops can significantly reduce costs without worrying about extra charges.
