Mobility: Powy round of investments, totaling 900,000 euros, to consolidate and expand public charging infrastructure in Milan

Charging Stations in Milan
  • There are over 100 charging stations in the Milan area, 52 of which are currently operational, with over 60 more in the planning stages
  • More than 500 tons of CO₂ have been avoided in Milan thanks to Powy infrastructure, with an average of over 27 tons per station, in addition to the avoidance of emissions of substances harmful to health

March 23, 2026Powy, – a company that owns, develops, and manages Italy’s leading independent network of public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles – is expanding its presence in Milan, where it already operates 18 active locations, established in collaboration with the City of Milan and private operators, for a total of52 public charging points. This current presence forms the foundation of a development plan that includesover 30 locations currently in the planning phase within the municipal area, for over 60 new charging points. Powy charging stations, powered 100% by renewable energy, utilize a technological mix designed to meet both daily charging needs and faster charging requirements: among the charging points currently active, there are 39 alternating current (AC ) points and 13 direct current (DC ) points.

“Between its existing locations and those in the planning stages, Powy approximately 900,000 euros in Milan. This is just the first phase: we are ready to open at least another 300 charging stations in the coming months to meet the growing demand,” saysFederico Fea CEO and co-founder of Powy.“Our goal is to continue collaborating with the city administration to contribute increasingly to the development of sustainable mobility and the improvement of people’s quality of life. In 2023, our country was by far the worst in Europe for air quality, with over 43,000 deaths attributable to air pollution (European Environment Agency data), of which more than 10,000 in Lombardy. This is a disturbing statistic that must prompt us all—citizens, the administration, and businesses—to reflect and take action. The challenge is not only about mobility and infrastructure, but above all concerns the health of citizens. Powy charging stations Powy already prevented the emission of over 500 tons of CO₂ in Milan, in addition to preventing the emission of numerous substances harmful to health”

“The rollout of the Powy charging station network,”says Arianna Censi, Milan’s Councilor for Mobility,“fits perfectly with our vision of a city committed to sustainable mobility. It allows us to offer an increasingly efficient service to the many Milanese residents who drive electric cars and serves as an incentive to promote the adoption of these vehicles, with benefits for air quality and the environment.”

At the same time, the growth strategy is also continuing at the national level: over the next five years, Powy to install approximately3,000 charging stations in Italy, which will be added to the more than 2,200 already in place, strengthening its presence in major cities and expanding coverage in areas that are still underserved.
