The brand's goal is to offer visitors a distinctive and detailed shopping experience, combining shopping, services and entertainment in exclusive settings .
In Italy, the McArthurGlen network includes four key centers : Serravalle Designer Outlet in Serravalle Scrivia (Alessandria), Noventa di Piave Designer Outlet (Venice), Castel Romano Designer Outlet (Rome), and La Reggia Designer Outlet in Marcianise (Caserta). These facilities welcome millions of Italian and international visitors each year, establishing themselves among the country's leading retail destinations.
The need
At McArthurGlen centers, the average customer stay varies between two and six hours : an ideal timeframe to allow for a full charge of an electric vehicle during the shopping experience. Added to this are travelers passing through along major routes, for whom the outlets represent a strategic, convenient, and well-served stopping point for charging, optimizing their shopping time.
In this context, McArthurGlen has identified electric charging as a strategic service to enrich the customer experience and offer its customers added value consistent with the evolution of sustainable mobility.
To achieve this goal, the group needed a highly specialized partner in the retail sector , capable of assuming complete management of the infrastructure, ensuring high operational standards, service continuity and a reliable user experience.
The Solution
To meet these needs, Powy has taken charge of the charging infrastructure at the four McArthurGlen centers in Serravalle Scrivia, Noventa di Piave, Castel Romano, and Marcianise, integrating a multi-location network into the outlet retail experience and adapting it to different usage profiles.
The network includes 8 dedicated hubs for a total of 118 charging points (110 in alternating current AC and 8 in direct current DC ), where every design detail has been studied to make the charging experience simple, intuitive and seamless:
- AC stations with integrated cables: a feature that raises market standards. Unlike traditional infrastructures, AC , the presence of the integrated cable eliminates the need to use a personal cable, making charging more immediate.
- High-power DC stations : dedicated to users who require reduced charging times, including transit travelers who can optimize their stopover inside the outlet.
- Dedicated and clearly visible signage: designed to make it easy to locate charging stations and make access to the service immediate and intuitive.
The infrastructure is integrated into the Powy roaming network, ensuring simple and universal access for users of major European eMSP operators.
