Powy and Meliá Hotels International join forces to accelerate electric mobility in the Spanish hotel industry

Madrid, June 12, 2025 - As sustainability and technological innovation drive the evolution of the tourism industry, Powy, an operator of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, has announced a partnership with Meliá Hotels International, a hotel group with a strong presence in Spain and internationally, to expand the current network of charging stations in its hotels in Spain, all powered entirely by renewable energy.

This agreement reflects both companies' commitment to sustainable mobility and responds to the growing demand for charging infrastructure in the country's major tourist destinations. It is a collaboration designed to offer guests an experience that combines convenience, technology and environmental friendliness.

The collaboration began with the installation of quick charging stations (Quick) in three of the group's hotels: Vielha Val d'Arán Affiliated by Meliá (Vielha Val d'Arán), INNSiDE by Meliá Alicante - Porta Maris (Alicante), and Sol House The Studio - Calvià Beach (Calvià, Majorca).

Each of these hotels already has two charging points available for guests, marking the beginning of a collaboration with positive results and excellent user acceptance.

A shared vision to promote sustainable mobility

The agreement includes a gradual expansion with new fast and ultrafast charging installations at other Meliá hotels throughout Spain. These infrastructures will enable a growing number of customers to recharge their electric vehicles efficiently during their stay.
