Powy first runner-up in the tender called by the City of Bolzano dedicated to charging infrastructure to promote electric mobility

June 26, 2025 - Powy, a company that owns, develops and operates Italy's leading independent network of public charging infrastructures for electric vehicles, won first place in the tender called by the Municipality of Bolzano for the allocation of space on public land for the installation and management of charging stations.

The competition, based on selection criteria that rewarded the quality of technical and management solutions, as well as environmental and architectural impact, was attended by leading national CPOs.

The committee praised the minimalist, low-impact design of Powy's stations, which, combined with the layout, minimizes the impact of the infrastructure on the urban fabric, the exclusive use of energy from 100 percent renewable sources, and the presence of smart sensors aimed at minimizing problems of misuse of the stalls reserved for charging electric vehicles.

Also appreciated were access to different payment methods, multilingual technical support, and experience in public infrastructure management gained throughout Italy. Powy's 360-degree service quality-oriented approach was a rewarding element compared to other operators.

Thanks to its first place in the final ranking, Powy will install 13 charging stations in as many city locations. To these will be added 4 stations dedicated exclusively to cab charging at as many sites, bringing the total to 17 stations for more than 34 charging points.

The stations will be placed at strategic points in the city, including Galilei Street, Palermo Street, Adriano Square, Matteotti Square, Marco Polo Street (Palaonda area), Station Square and Walther Square. The stations will cover high-traffic areas such as the fairgrounds, the Internal Revenue Service, the NOI Techpark area and the Einstein parking lot.

The intervention is part of a vision of increasingly sustainable, integrated and accessible urban mobility, in line with the environmental and strategic goals of the municipal administration. The project involves carefully planned construction management, with the aim of minimizing the impact on the urban fabric.

With this new award, Powy further strengthens its presence in strategic urban centers, helping to make Bolzano an even more sustainable city at the forefront of electric mobility. The deal also confirms the company's ability to partner with the public administration by offering advanced, scalable and environmentally friendly quality solutions.
