April 9, 2024 Powy, a company offering cutting-edge solutions for charging electric vehicles, has further expanded its presence in Emilia Romagna – where it already operates 18 charging stations, for a total of 46 charging points, in over 11 municipalities, including Bologna and Ferrara – thanks to recent agreements with municipal administrations in the region. The company has entered into a partnership with the municipality of Budrio, where it has begun installing its charging stations.

The columns of Powy They provide energy from 100% renewable sources and allow citizens to charge their electric cars efficiently and quickly, with a range ranging from 22 to 100 kW. In Budrio Powy it has installed 6 electric columns that have a power between 22 and 100 kW. The stations are located in practical and affordable places: for example, near the supermarket in Via Mezzetti, in the parking lot between the Budrio Hospital and a kindergarten, near the train station and in the city center.

To date, there are more than 19,000 registered electric vehicles throughout the region, which is why the company aims to create an infrastructure of electrical stations in strategic locations and accessible to all, so as to take advantage of the waits and downtime during which the vehicle remains stationary and unused.

"Our goal is to expanding the presence of Powy in Emilia Romagna, which already has several agreements with major private and public operators, to develop an increasingly vast and widespread network of infrastructures. A mission that aims to make the charging of electric cars easier and more immediate and thus promote the transition to sustainable mobility, which reduces emissions caused by the transport sector," he says Federico Fea, CEO of Powy.

In fact, transport is the second most polluting sector in Europe: the CO₂ emissions produced account for 23% of total greenhouse gas emissions, and in the EU it remains the only sector whose emission level has not decreased since 1990. As such, Powy is committed to offering innovative facilities that can implement alternative solutions that can reduce their impact on the environment in order to cut emissions and combat climate change.

In just three years, the company has seen rapid growth in its network, which now has more than 2,000 charging points, including more than 600 installed and 1,400 under construction.
