The Need
To accelerate the ecological transition and expand services related to electric mobility, the City of Bolzano has launched a public tender for the installation and management of new charging stations on public property.
The goal was not only to increase the number of available infrastructure facilities, but also to identify a partner capable of developing a comprehensive, technologically advanced network that is seamlessly integrated into the urban environment, with solutions that respect the city’s aesthetic appeal and enhance the user experience.
Another specific need was to promote more sustainable urban mobility by providing efficient and reliable charging services, including support for professional groups that are strategic to the city.
The Solution
Powy It won the bid issued by the City of Bolzano thanks to a proposal that combined technical and managerial quality with a focus on urban integration.
The project calls for 18 charging stations with a total of 35 charging points, representing a total investment of approximately 700,000 euros. The network will incorporate various charging technologies (AC, DC, DC+, and HPC) to meet different mobility needs.
The rollout plan is underway: 15 of the 18 planned stations have already been installed, with infrastructure located in strategic areas of the city such as Via Milano, Via Volta, Via Cassa di Risparmio, Via Claudia Augusta, and Viale Europa.
The stations also feature smart sensors for monitoring parking spaces, which can distinguish between vehicles that are charging and those parked improperly, thereby improving the availability of spaces dedicated to electric mobility.
All infrastructure will be powered by energy from renewable sources and feature a minimalist design with low visual impact, intended to blend into the urban environment.
