The Municipality
The City of Vimercate, located in the province of Monza and Brianza, is a dynamic city of about 25,000 inhabitants. With a growing urban fabric and a population increasingly attentive to environmental issues, Vimercate has decided to concretely invest in electric mobility as a tool to improve the quality of life and reduce emissions. The municipal administration promotes innovative policies that combine technology and citizen service, strengthening its role as a model for other realities in Lombardy.
The Need
With the increase of electric vehicles in the city, Vimercate felt the need to develop a widespread, efficient and accessible charging network capable of serving citizens, commuters and municipal vehicles. The municipality aimed to provide safe, fast and sustainable infrastructure, incentivizing the adoption of electric cars and reducing air pollution. It was essential to ensure widespread coverage across the territory and to respond to the operational needs of citizens and the municipality, promoting sustainable mobility as a concrete strategy for the city's green transition.
The Solution
To meet these needs, the City of Vimercate has entered into an agreement with Powy Thanks to this partnership, six Powy stations are already active, including strategic ones in Largo Europa, Via Armando Diaz and another one in the Torri Bianche neighborhood, while additional strategic points are planned to be activated in the coming months, for a total of 16 charging points in the municipal territory, 12 of which are in alternating currentAC) and 4 in direct currentDC).
