New incentives to promote electric mobility in Vitoria-Gasteiz

Vitoria-Gasteiz, a city in Spain and the de facto capital of the autonomous community of the Basque Country, as well as the official capital of the province of Álava, continues to invest in sustainable mobility .
With a population of 255,886, the city has allocated 150,000 euros for urban electric transportation.
The initiative, included in the Strategic Grant Plan 2025-2027 and the result of an agreement between EH Bildu and the city administration, aims to reduce air pollution and promote low-emission mobility solutions.
Who are the incentives aimed at?
The call is open to two professional categories:
- cab service
- Urban logistics, including electric vans and cargo bikes (cargo bikes)
How does the contribution work?
The total fund is divided into three lines of intervention, based on the type of vehicle and its use:
1. Electric cabs
Up to 30,000 euros in total to support the purchase of zero-emission vehicles:
- 10,000 euros for standard or adapted electric cabs with ECO label
- 20,000 euros for accessible electric cabs adapted to transport people with reduced mobility
2. Cargo bikes for urban logistics
Electric cargo bikes receive a subsidy based on the mode of purchase:
- Up to 80% of the price if accompanied by the scrapping of a polluting van
-
up to 50% of the price without scrapping
Freight accessories are also included
3. Professional electric vans
Up to 15,000 euros for the purchase of a new electric van, provided the previous vehicle is scrapped and the new one is used in the same professional activity.
